今回は英検3級の面接問題のうち、
「面接官からの質問に答えるパート」の過去問とその回答例をまとめて紹介します。
今日の講義の流れ
面接官の質問
英検3級の面接では、面接官からの質問はさまざまな内容のものがありますが
「基本のパターン」や「型」はある程度決まっています。
具体的には
- 最初の質問の形式は「What kind of music do you like?」のような疑問詞で始まるパターン
- 次の質問は「Do you ~?/ Are you〜?」型
- 回答は、それぞれの質問に「文（フルセンテンス）」で答える
というものです。
まずは、この「パターンがある」という事実を知ることが第一ステップです。
そのうえで、パターンは決まっているのですから
この基本パターン・型に沿った質問・回答の練習をすることで、じっさいの面接をかなり有利にすすめることができます。
のちほど、質問パターン集をまとめていますので参考にしてくださいね。
模範回答例
次に答え方の模範例です。
さきほど、「疑問詞型」「Do you~型」いずれの質問にも
- 「文（センテンス）」で答える
のが、ポイントだとお話ししました。
ここをもう少し具体的に見ていきましょう。
以下は、じっさいの質問と模範解答の例です。
【質問（疑問詞型）】
Where would you like to go this summer?
【回答例】
I would like to go to Hokkaido.
（I want to go to Hokkaido.）
上記の例は「疑問詞型」の質問（あなたは今年の夏にどこに行きたいですか？）に対する答えですが、
「I would like to go to Hokkaido.」と「文で」答えているのがわかりますか？
要するに
「Hokkaido.」や「Hawaii.」などと単語のみで答えるのではなく、
主語と動詞を含む「文」で答えることがポイントということです。
最初は難しいかもしれませんが、何度か練習していれば慣れてきます！
ちなみに
質問に答えられていれば、答えそのもの（今回の例では場所）はどこでもかまいません。
答えるときに注意すること
先ほど、質問形式は
- 「What kind of music do you like?」のような疑問詞で始まるパターン
- 「Do you ~?/ Are you〜?」のパターン
の2つがあるとお話ししました。
それぞれに対する答え方には以下のような決まりがあります。
- 疑問詞から始まる質問には、自分の希望や予定など「Yes / No」ではない形で答える
- 「Do you ~?/ Are you〜?」型の質問には、まず「Yes / No」で答える
これは英検の面接に限ったことではありません。
英語の受け答えにおける原則ですので、この決まりを必ず覚えておいてください。
具体的な練習方法
出題パターンがわかったら、あとは過去問で何度も練習するのみです。
練習で意識してほしいことは以下の2つです。
- 質問サンプル、回答例を見ながら音読する
- 例を暗記するぐらい、声に出してリピート練習をする
これができれば、面接合格に必要な「共通の型・視点」が身につきますので、
面接当日に違うトピックの質問がきても「単語を入れ替える」だけでカンタンに対応できます。
ではさっそくはじめましょう。
英検3級面接：過去問と回答例（Q4疑問詞パターン）
（1）Which seasons do you like the best?
→ I like spring/summer/fall/winter ( the best ).
（2）How did you come here today?
→ I came here by train/car/bus.
（3）What did you do last weekend?
→ I played video games last weekend.
（4）What do you like to do with your friends?
→ I like to talk about TV shows with my friends.
（5）When did you start studying English?
→ I started studying English in junior high school. / I started it two years ago.
（6）What kind of movies do you like to watch?
→ I like (to watch/watching) comedies.
（7）What kind of food do you like to eat?
→ I like (to eat/eating) Italian food..
（8）Where do you like to go with your friends?
→ I like to go to the beach with my friends.
（9）What are you planning to do this winter?
→ I’m planning [going] to go skiing.
（10）What time do you usually go to bed?
→ I (usually) go to bed at ten (p.m./o’clock).
（11）Where do you often go on weekends?
→ I (often) go to the shopping mall on weekends.

（12）Do you have any pets?
Yes. → Please tell me about your pet.
→ I have a dog./ My rabbit is cute.
No. →What kind of pet would you like to have?
→ I’d like to have a bird.
（13）Do you like summer?
Yes. → Why?
→ I have a long vacation./ I can go swimming.
No. → Why not?
→ It’s too hot./ I can’t meet my friends.
（14）Do you like to travel?
Yes. →Please tell me more.
→ Traveling is a lot of fun.
（15）Do you often listen to music?
Yes. →Please tell me more.
→ I often listen to CDs in my room.
No. → What do you do in your free time?
→ I play computer games in my free time.
（16）Are you interested in sports?
